For this project, we had to research a problem that currently faces or world and them come up with a solution to that problem. Our problem was disease, and since we couldn't deal with that as a whole, so we decided to go for diabetes as our issue. We decided to tackle this issue by creating an application for mobile devices in order to help you keep a consistent exercise schedule and regular diet. We quickly realized that creating an app was impossible for our group because none of us knew how to program. Instead, we created a google sheets that would show users what the app would use to input data and how it was calculated, as well as a website to show off what the app might look like for users. In the sheets we implemented a point system for what you and challenges that are optional based on exercise, these would both be used to create a final score for the user. The motivation for users to do this would be to stay healthy and active as a diabetic. This app would also have a friends page where you and your friends could challenge each other to a competition to get the most points. On the website, we included a background, buttons, and links to our google sheets.
Concepts: This project didn't have any specific concepts. It was more of a conceptual project, replacing the physics concepts with facts about diabetics and how diabetes affect the body
Reflection: This project was very difficult because the project came as a project all thought on our own. The first problem was the research, it was difficult to see the information about diabetics and how diabetes hurts them. The second problem was that we had no background knowledge on how to use google sheets, instead using Mr. Williams' website as our projects base. But there were some good parts to this project. First, I learned a lot more about diabetes as a disease and how preventable it is to me. Secondly I learned how to use google sheets in depth, greatly increasing the chances I will use it on a future project. Overall, this project was very fun and challenging project that I would love to do for different topics.
